iUG Community Rules, Etiquette, Privacy, and AI Use Guidelines
Thank you for being part of the iUG Insider Community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established the following guidelines for participation.
By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read, understand, and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions, shared files, and other content for purposes appropriate to a professional, members only forum. This community exists to solicit advice from peers, benefit from shared experience, and participate in thoughtful, ongoing conversation.
Questions about membership, moderation, or these guidelines should be directed to the iUG Member Services team via the Contact Us form on this site.
To preserve an environment that encourages respectful and productive dialogue, iUG reserves the right to suspend, restrict, moderate, or terminate access to this community for any member who violates these guidelines.
Community Rules
Respect others.
Focus on the content of posts, not the individuals posting them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer members—there is no such thing as a stupid question.
Respect the purpose of the community.
Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals. This forum is not intended for promotion or solicitation of products or services.
No direct marketing or sales activity.
Do not use the community as a direct marketing tool for products or services offered by you or another business. This community exists solely for sharing knowledge and learning from others. If you are unsure whether a post may violate this rule, please contact iUG staff before posting.
Use caution when discussing products or vendors.
Information posted in discussion groups or libraries is visible to other members and may be subject to libel, slander, antitrust, and other applicable laws.
Prohibited content.
Do not post defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, misleading, or illegal material. Do not post anything you would not want publicly attributed to you.
Respect intellectual property.
Post only content you have personally created or have permission to use, and properly attribute content to the original creator. When sharing materials, indicate whether the content is restricted from reuse and contact the owner if you wish to reuse it.
Post in the appropriate area.
Share messages and documents only in the most relevant community or forum to reduce noise and improve engagement.
Discussion Group Etiquette
- Use clear and concise subject lines that reflect the content of your post.
- Send brief acknowledgments (e.g., “thanks” or “me too”) directly to individuals rather than the entire group.
- Do not post administrative requests (such as unsubscribe or email changes) to the group. Use the site’s settings to manage your account.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automated Tools
To maintain trust, confidentiality, and the value of peer to peer exchange, the following guidelines apply to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools within the iUG Community:
- Transparency: If you use AI generated content in a post (such as summaries, draft responses, or code), please clearly indicate that the content was assisted or generated by AI.
- No confidential data input: Do not input confidential, proprietary, or non public member, organizational, or system data into external AI tools or services.
- Member content protection: Content shared within this members only community is not intended for use in training public or private AI models outside of iUG.
- Accuracy responsibility: Members remain responsible for verifying the accuracy, applicability, and appropriateness of any AI assisted content they share.
- iUG AI usage: iUG will not knowingly use private community discussions or files to train AI systems without appropriate notice, consent, and safeguards.
Privacy, Confidentiality, and Data Protection
Respect member privacy.
This is a members only community. Do not share, repost, screenshot, or distribute community discussions, files, or member information outside of the community without explicit permission.
Sensitive information.
Do not post passwords, access credentials, private database data, personally identifiable information (PII), financial data, or confidential organizational information.
Personal responsibility.
While iUG takes reasonable steps to protect community data, members are responsible for safeguarding their own account credentials and for the content they choose to share.
